I’m thrilled to announce my second tour of Umbria, arguably the most magnificent region in all of Italy. Steeped in history dating back at least to the Etruscans, Umbria is home to more “borghi piu’ belli di Italia”- “most beautiful villages of Italy” - than any other region in Italy!
Our base will be the very special village of Monte Castello di Vibio, a small medieval hill town with sweeping vistas and welcoming people. Each day we will visit a different destination with our expert local guide, Monia Minciarelli, and then return “home” for a relaxing evening in Monte Castello.
Housing will be in local B&B’s and apartments, all with private baths. Breakfast and dinner daily will be provided on the terrace of the International Center for the Arts, lovingly prepared by their wonderful chefs, Cristiano and Loris, who are always ready to accommodate special dietary needs.
Our itinerary will provide a full array of experiences, from art to archeology to culinary delights. We’ll even have our own private concert with local violinist Salvatore!

Itinerary
May 19 Departure. Direct flight to Rome!!
May 20 Arrive Rome, transfer to Monte Castello di Vibio. Welcome buffet lunch, get settled, afternoon visit to Todi
May 21 Assisi Assisi Romana, including the ancient amphitheater, Museo San Rufino, Roman Forum with Temple of Minerva, ancient Roman Domus. Afternoon visit to the famous Basilica of San Francesco with its magnificent frescoes by Giotto.
May 22 Citta' di Castello Morning in Citta' di Castello, including Palazzo Vitelli alla Cannoniera. Afternoon visit to the sito Archeologia Arborea.
May 23 Carsulae and San Gemini Archeological site and Museum in ancient Carsulae, followed by a visit to the charming town of San Gemini
May 24 Foligno and Rasiglia Morning visit to the town of Foligno. Afternoon in Rasiglia, the "Little Venice of Umbria".
May 25 Trevi and Campello sul Clitunno
May 26 Perugia Isola San Lorenzo, including a visit underground; Basilica San Pietro; Orto Medievale (Medieval Orchard)
May 27 Monte Castello di Vibio Morning visit to the nearby orchard Passo del Palomba for a premier olive oil tasting experience. Lunch and afternoon back in Monte Castello with a performance in the Teatro della Concordia, followed by hors d'oeuvres in the piazza.
May 28 Narni Visit to the town followed by a tour of Narni Sotterranea (Underground Narni). Brief stops at the Bridge of Augustus and the Gorges of Stifone.
May 29 Villa Lante di Bagnaia, a "Mannerist garden of surprise" near Viterbo
May 30 Arrivederci Italia!!
