I’m thrilled to announce this exciting new tour of Umbria, arguably the most magnificent region in all of Italy. Steeped in history dating back at least to the Etruscans, Umbria is home to more “borghi piu’ belli di Italia”- “most beautiful villages of Italy” - than any other region in Italy!
Our base will be the very special village of Monte Castello di Vibio, a small medieval hill town with sweeping vistas and welcoming people. Each day we will visit a different destination with our expert local guide, Monia Minciarelli, and then return “home” for a relaxing evening in Monte Castello.
Housing will be in local B&B’s and apartments, all with private baths. Breakfast and dinner daily will be provided on the terrace of the International Center for the Arts, prepared by their wonderful chef, Cristiano, who is always ready to accommodate special dietary needs.
Our itinerary will provide a full array of experiences, from art to archeology to culinary delights. We’ll even have our own private concert with local violinist Salvatore!

May 23 Arrive Rome, transfer to Monte Castello di Vibio. Welcome buffet lunch, get settled, tour of Monte Castello, tour of Teatro della Concordia
May 24 Orvieto Duomo, Orvieto Underground, Archeological Museum, Museo Faina. Free time to explore and wander
May 25 Montefalco; Bevagna Museo San Francesco, tour of Montefalco, wine tasting and tour at a local cantina (Montefalco) Medieval house tour, free time to wander (Bevagna)
May 26 Assisi Basilica di San Francesco (with famous frescoes by Giotto), underground Assisi, tour of churches and the town
May 27 Spoletto; Spello Duomo di Spoletto, Rocca Albornoziana and Museo Ducato (Spoletto); Capella Baglioni, olive oil tasting at Frantoio di Spello, time to explore (Spello)
May 28 Perugia Visit in center of town, Palazzo dei Priori, Tessitura Brozetti (traditional hand-weaving workshop), chocolate tasting at a chocolate factory
May 29 Deruta; Todi Museum of Ceramics; Madonna dei Bagni (Deruta). Afternoon tour of Todi
May 30 Arezzo; Monterchi; San Sepolcro on the trail of Piero della Francesca
May 31 Gubbio
June 1 Villa Lante di Bagnaia near Viterbo
