This exciting new trip to Venice and the Veneto will give travelers an opportunity to visit Venice in depth since we'll have six and a half days there with our incredible guide, Luisella Romeo.  The other three days will be spent in Vicenza, Verona and Padova, all a short train ride away.  Luisella and I are still working out the itinerary so there will likely be some additions and changes, but rest assured that the final schedule will be full of variety and interest.  From Burano and Torcello to the Island of Giudecca to the Church of La Madonna del Orto, this is the tour that lovers of Venice have been waiting for!!

ITINERARY:

Mar. 11     Departure. Dulles-Frankfort-Venice.  

Mar. 12     Arrive Venice at 12:45 p.m.  Settle into our hotel, Locanda La Corte.  Late afternoon walking tour, visit to Palazzo Querini Stampalia (It's important not to sleep in the afternoon!).  dinner

Mar. 13     morning:  Saint Mark's Basilica; Doge's Palace.  afternoon:  Ca' Rezzonico

Mar. 14     Island of Giudecca, including visit to Villa Heriot.  dinner

Mar. 15    Padova ,full day with a local guide.  Visits include the Scrovegni Chapel with masterpieces by Giotto.

Mar. 16     Islands of Torcello and Burano, including a visit to the studio of a local artist.   dinner

Mar. 17    Canareggio:  Oratorio dei Crocifori, Chiesa dei Mendicanti, Chiesa dei Derelitti (morning) Ca' Pesaro (afternoon)

Mar. 18    Vicenza, full day with Francesca Marini.  Visits include Teatro Olimpico, Villa Valmarana dei Nani, Villa Rotunda

Mar. 19    Churches of San Sebastiano, S. Nicolo dei Mendicoli, Santa Maria della Salute, Il Redentore, San Giorgio Maggiore
